Block Paving Cleaning, Re-sanding & Sealing Nottingham

Specialist block-paving cleaning, re-sanding and sealing across Nottingham, Derby and nearby areas. RMS restores tired driveways, patios and paths using professional equipment and a process designed around the blocks, joints, drainage and existing condition.

Block paving needs more than a quick pressure wash. Cleaning removes weeds, moss, algae, dirt and loose joint material, but the correct aftercare is what leaves the surface stable and properly finished.

Complete Block-Paving Restoration

We assess the paving before starting, looking for sunken blocks, failed edges, oil staining, worn joints, drainage problems and previous sealers. Cleaning alone will not repair movement, so any lifting or re-laying is identified separately.

Professional block-paving cleaning

Pressure, attachments and treatments are selected for the paving condition. Edges, channels, walls, doors and neighbouring areas are considered, with runoff managed as practically as the site allows.

Kiln-dried sand replacement

Cleaning commonly removes old or loose jointing sand. Once the blocks are dry enough, suitable kiln-dried sand can be worked back into the joints where included in the quotation. This helps support and stabilise the paving.

Optional block-paving sealing

Sealing can be considered after the surface has been cleaned, repaired where necessary, re-sanded and allowed to dry. It is not suitable for every driveway, so we assess moisture, previous products and the required finish first.

Our Block-Paving Process

  1. Inspect: Check levels, joints, staining, drainage and access.
  2. Prepare: Agree movable items and protect nearby areas where required.
  3. Clean: Remove surface dirt, organic growth and loose joint material.
  4. Dry: Allow suitable drying time before joint work.
  5. Re-sand: Replace kiln-dried sand when included and conditions allow.
  6. Seal or repair: Complete separately agreed options where appropriate.

Repairs Before or After Cleaning

RMS can assess isolated dips, loose blocks, damaged edges and small failed areas. Our building and landscaping background means practical repairs can be quoted rather than cleaning over a defect. Larger failures may require a separate driveway repair plan.

What Affects the Cost?

Block-Paving Questions

Does block paving always need re-sanding?

Where cleaning removes jointing sand, replacement is normally needed. The blocks must be suitably dry before new sand is applied.

Can you remove every oil stain?

No result can be guaranteed before assessment. Oil may penetrate deeply into porous blocks and could require treatment or replacement of individual units.

Can you repair sunken wheel tracks?

Yes, affected areas can be assessed for lifting, correcting the bedding and re-laying, subject to the underlying condition.
