Driveway Cleaning, Re-sanding & Sealing Nottingham

Professional driveway cleaning and restoration across Nottingham, Derby and nearby areas. RMS Exterior Cleaning & Restoration cleans block paving, concrete, tarmac and other suitable driveway surfaces, with re-sanding and sealing available where appropriate.

RMS is based in Brinsley and combines professional exterior-cleaning equipment with more than 25 years of building and landscaping knowledge. That means we do more than make a surface look cleaner: we assess the paving, joints, drainage, edges and existing damage before recommending the right treatment.

Driveway Cleaning for Different Surfaces

Every driveway is different. The pressure, cleaning method and aftercare must suit the material and its condition. Before work begins, we look for loose blocks, failed joints, damaged pointing, oil staining, algae, moss, drainage problems and previous sealers.

Block paving cleaning and re-sanding

Block paving commonly collects weeds, moss and dirt within the joints. After cleaning, the paving must dry properly before suitable kiln-dried sand is worked back into the joints. Re-sanding helps stabilise the blocks and leaves a neater, more complete finish than cleaning alone.

Concrete and paving-slab driveways

Concrete, flags and other paved surfaces are assessed for cracks, weak joints, surface wear and staining. We use a controlled method suited to the condition of the driveway and explain beforehand when a stain may need specialist treatment or may not disappear completely.

Tarmac and delicate surfaces

Tarmac, resin-bound areas and weathered surfaces can be damaged by an unsuitable high-pressure approach. We inspect these surfaces carefully and only recommend work that is appropriate for the material.

Our Driveway Restoration Process

  1. Assessment: We inspect the surface, access, drainage, staining and joint condition.
  2. Preparation: Loose items are moved where agreed and nearby doors, walls and sensitive areas are considered.
  3. Professional cleaning: The equipment and method are adjusted for the surface and level of contamination.
  4. Drying and re-sanding: Where included, block paving is allowed to dry before the joints are re-sanded.
  5. Optional sealing: Suitable driveways can be assessed for sealing after cleaning and preparation.
  6. Final check: We inspect the cleaned area and discuss any maintenance or repair recommendations.

Cleaning, Re-sanding or Complete Restoration

You can request a straightforward maintenance clean, cleaning with block-paving re-sanding, or a more complete restoration quotation. Where paving has sunk, moved or suffered damaged edges, RMS can also assess practical repairs using our building and landscaping experience. Repairs and sealing are always discussed and quoted before being completed.

Driveway Cleaning Questions

Do you always re-sand block paving?

Re-sanding is recommended where cleaning removes or disturbs jointing sand, but it must be included in the quotation and completed when the paving is suitably dry.

Can you remove every oil or rust mark?

No responsible contractor can guarantee every stain will disappear. The result depends on the substance, how deeply it has penetrated and previous treatments. We explain realistic expectations before work.

Can you repair sunken block paving?

Yes, RMS can assess sunken or loose areas and quote separately for lifting, levelling and re-laying where appropriate.
